VSP Press Release-Disorderly Conduct by Phone - False Reports

VIOLATION: Disorderly Conduct by Phone/ Possession of Marijuana (< 1oz)/ False Information to Police Officer

 

ACCUSED: Todd Martell                                               

AGE: 50

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Stockbridge, VT

 

ACCUSED: Lisa Wakefield

AGE: 48

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Bethel, VT

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 11/23/16 at approx 1500, troopers from the Vermont State

Police - Royalton responded to several 911 hang up calls at an address on Ranny

Road in Stockbridge, Windsor County. Upon arrival troopers found that Todd

Martell of Stockbridge, Windsor County and his sister, Lisa Wakefield of

(location) had been arguing, which led to repeated calls to 911. Both parties

were advised 911 was for emergencies only. Before leaving the driveway, troopers

had to return to the residence as two additional 911 calls were made from the

residence. Wakefield was cited for Disorderly Conduct by Phone for contiuous

false claims to emergency services. The troopers left the scen, but were called

back after another 911 call came from the residence. Todd Martell was also cited

for Disorderly Conduct by Phone for continuous false claims and False

Information to a Police Officer. Further investigation also led to the seizure

and issuance of a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

The troopers left the scene with no further incidents.
