SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 11/29/16 at approximately 1715 hours, VSP-Derby Troopers were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Rtes 105 and 100 in Newport Center.  Troopers responded to find both vehicles disabled due to damage in the middle of the road.  There was airbag deployment in vehicle 2, and operator 2, Sousa-Racicot, was complaining of pain.

Investigation revealed operator 1, Coderre, had failed to yield to vehicle 2 while proceeding through the stop sign at the junction of Rtes 105 and 100, and was subsequently struck in the left fender by vehicle 2, which was travelling south on Rte 105.

Operator 2 declined ambulance transport and was driven to North Country Hospital.  Operator 1 was issued a ticket for failing to yield right of way.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Rockwell’s and East Main Auto.
