SUMMARY OF CRASH:
On November 3, 2016 VSP St. Albans was advised of a single vehicle crash on Interstate 89 southbound near mile marker 109.85 in the Town of Georgia, VT. At the time of the crash the weather was raining and the interstate was wet and at times had pools of water building up. Georgia Fire was first on scene and advised the truck was on its roof and two occupants were trapped inside.
Once Troopers arrived on scene, it was determined that Brandon Boissonneault (22) of Georgia, VT was the operator of a 2015 GMC Sierra. Boissonneault stated to Troopers that he was traveling 70mph when he hydroplaned, hit the guardrail and rolled three times down an embankment. Boissonneault sustained minor injuries and was transported to Northwest Medical Center in St. Albans. Boissonneault's passenger, Hannah Mason (17) was also transported to UVM Medical Center in Burlington, VT for minor injuries as well.
McRae's Towing and Interstate Auto assisted in removing the vehicle from the side of the Interstate. Troopers had Interstate 89 shut down to one (1) lane for approximately three (3) hours. Boissonneault will receive two (2) tickets in the mail.
