SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

On the attached date and time, State Police attempted to initiate  a traffic stop with the accused's vehicle, after observing a motor vehicle violation near mile marker 8, northbound on Interstate 93, in the town of Waterford, VT. As State Police attempted to initiate the traffic stop, the accused fled at a high rate of speed. State Police pursued the vehicle, with the accused reaching speeds of approximately 115 mph on the interstate, before finally coming to a stop approximately 6 miles later, on Interstate 91, near mile marker 124 southbound, in the town of Barnet, VT.  

 

The operator of the vehicle was identified as  Stephen Paquette (33), of Bristol, VT. It was found that Paquette did not have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Vermont. Paquette was subsequently taken into custody, and transported to the St. Johnsbury State Police barracks for processing. Paquette was issued a criminal citation to appear in Caledonia Criminal Court on 12/5/2016, to answer charges of, Attempting to Elude (felony), Excessive Speed, Reckless Endangerment, and Negligent Operation.
