SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 10/15/16 at approximately 1117 hours a concerned motorist called 911 to report that a brown Toyota Tacoma truck with Massachusetts’ registration was being operated erratically as it traveled south on I91 in the area of MM47 which is in Weathersfield.  Several minutes later another report was received, but this time it indicated that the vehicle was in the area of MM32 southbound.  Troopers responded to the area, located the vehicle south of Exit 5, and observed some erratic operation as the vehicle was being pulled over in the area of MM25 southbound.

Investigation revealed that the operator, Erica Lafayette age 53 of Bennington, was intoxicated.  A preliminary breath test resulted in a .150% BAC.  Lafayette was taken into custody and processed for DUI at the Westminster Barracks.  It was determined that her privilege to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Vermont was suspended for life due to prior DUI convictions.  She was later released on conditions with a citation to appear in Windham Superior Court-Criminal Division on 11/01/16 to face the charges of DUI#4 and Driving While License Suspended.
