SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 10/18/16 at approximately 7:30pm a bullet went through the dining room window of the Harwood Family residence. It is believed that the bullet was a stray and that this incident was unintentional due to the geographical surroundings. With efforts from the Royalton Troopers and the Vermont Fish and Game Warden, two arrests have been made after completing the investigation. The accused were shooting a rifle at the same time the bullet went through the window at the Harwood residence. The rifle was being shot at a homemade range with an inadequate back stop at the top of Sand Hill Rd. in Bethel.  Due to the elevation of the range, the bullet traveled approximately 3,767 feet before going through the window. After taking careful measurements, it was determined that the bullet traveled within 3 feet of where the resident was sitting and could have caused serious bodily injury. The accused have been cited for December 6th and 7th, 2016 in Windsor County to answer to the charge of Reckless Endangerment.
