SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 10/07/16, at approximately 1714 hours, members of the Vermont State Police, responded to a three motor vehicle crash on Interstate 91 north mile marker 34.8 in the Town of Rockingham. Upon arrival, Troopers learned Paige K. Evans, 37, was the operator of vehicle #3 and was traveling north on the right lane when an unknown red/burgundy sedan coming from the northbound entrance ramp was swerving and stopping as it tried to enter the interstate. This caused Evans confusion because she did not know if the unknown vehicle was going to enter the interstate and therefore she came to a stop on the interstate. As a result, David R. Harris, 53, the operator of Vehicle # 2 pressed hard on the breaks until his vehicle came to a complete stop as well. However, Lucille Dunn, 57, the operator of Vehicle #1 was too close to Vehicle #2 and when she pressed the vehicles breaks her vehicle crashed into Vehicle #2. This impact pushed Vehicle #2 forward, causing it to crash into Vehicle #3 and then crashing into the guardrail.

As a result of the crash, Evans sustained minor neck injury and Harris a bruise on his back. Both were transported to Springfield Hospital.

Bellows Fall and Walpole Fire Departments’ and Golden Cross Rescue assisted at the scene. Vehicle #1 and Vehicle #2 were towed by R & K Towing.
