SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 10/08/16, at approximately 2255 hours, members of the Vermont State Police, responded to a single vehicle crash into a tree over the embankment on Route 112 in the Town of Halifax.  During the investigation, Peter J. Dempsey, 30, of Stamford, CT was found to be intoxicated. After field sobriety exercises Dempsey was arrested for driving under the influence. Dempsey refused to provide a preliminary breath test at roadside. Dempsey was subsequently transported to Wilmington Police Department for processing. Dempsey was released with a citation to answer to a charge of DUI in Windham Superior Court- Criminal Division on October 25, 2016.

Halifax Fired Department assisted at the scene. Vehicle #1 was towed by Al’s Towing.
