SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On Saturday, October 22, 2016 at approximately 1529 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police-Rutland Barracks responded to a single car crash with reported injuries and possible entrapment at 3164 US Route 7 south in the Town of Wallingford, VT.

 

Investigation determined that vehicle #1 was traveling south on US Route 7. US Route 7 primarily runs north and south. There is one northbound lane of travel and one southbound lane of travel. Operator #1 (Wetmore) was traveling south on US Route 7 when the vehicle went off the traveled portion of the roadway. Operator #1 then corrected the vehicle and traveled across both southbound and northbound lanes of travel. Operator #1 struck the guard rail and traveled down an embankment into a ditch adjacent to the roadway. Vehicle #1 rolled approximately three times before coming to rest on its wheels. Vehicle #1 was removed from the ditch and towed due to disabling damage by Carrara’s Towing Recovery.

 

Operator #1 was evaluated on scene by Regional Ambulance for minor scratches and hip abrasions.

 

Assistance was also provided by Clarendon Fire Department and Wallingford Fire Department.

 

Operator #1 was found to be at fault for the crash and in violation of Title 23 VSA 1038, Driving on roadways laned for traffic.
