SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On October 23, 2016, at approximately 1753 hours, State Police were notified by a concerned motorist that the vehicle in front of them was operating erratically and in a dangerous manner. The complainant followed the vehicle to G&L General Store in Benson, Vermont, where State Police met with the complainant and identified the operator. Fair Haven Police assisted on scene.
State Police identified Kayla M. Chartier (28) by Vermont photo operators license. While interacting with Chartier, she displayed several signs of impairment and was screened using Standard Field Sobriety Tests.
Chartier provided a preliminary breath sample which resulted in 0.185% BrAC, and was taken into custody for further processing for driving under the influence.
Chartier was processed and issued a citation to appear in court for Driving Under the Influence.
