SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On October 9, 2016, at approximately 1737 hours, State Police were notified of a two car motor vehicle crash with injuries on Vermont Route 73 in Sudbury, Vermont.

On arrival, one of the operators, later identified as Morton T. Pecor Jr. (29), and as Operator #1, was transported by Brandon Rescue to Porter Medical Center in Middlebury, Vermont.  State Police located and identified Lori Young (54) as Operator #2. Young advised she was operating Vehicle #2, a white 2015 Jeep Cherokee, Young advised she was traveling east on Vermont Route 73 when the operator of Vehicle #1, a red 2005 Chevrolet Aveo, that was traveling west came around a corner too fast, lost control and crashed into her.  Neither Young nor her passenger were injured.

Marks on the roadway and the position of the vehicles indicate Vehicle#1 was traveling westbound, and while negotiating a 90 degree turn, crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane, traveled back across the highway, nearly went off the westbound shoulder, then veered back across the center line again into the eastbound lane where it impacted Vehicle #2.

State Police met with Pecor at Porter Medical Center, and while conversing with him he displayed signs of impairment. Pecor volunteered a preliminary breath test, which resulted in a 0.093% BrAC.

Pecor is pending criminal charges for Driving Under the Influence.
