SUMMARY OF CRASH:

ON 10-10-16, at approximately 1757 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks responded to a single vehicle crash on East Street in the Town of Middletown Springs.  Investigation revealed, Dorthy Reed was operating her 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier westbound on East Street when a bear and a coyote ran into the roadway.  Reed swerved to avoid colliding with the animals and subsequently went off the north side of the roadway.  After going off the roadway, Reed collided with a stone wall causing severe impact damage to her vehicle.  As a result of the collision with the wall, Reed sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center as precaution.
