CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Vergennes Vermont.
SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On September 30, 2016 at approximately 22:15 hours Vermont State Police received a complaint of a vehicle traveling southbound on US Route 7 in the Town of Ferrisburgh operating in an erratic manner. Vermont State Police observed the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle in question quickly accelerated to an excessive rate of speed on US Route 7 in the Town of Ferrisburgh. With the assistance from both the Bristol Police Department and Vergennes Police Department the vehicles tires were deflated with Spike Strips. The pursuit lasted several minutes after the tires were deflated at which point the operator later identified as Christopher Thompson (DOB: 2-13-1983) of Vergennes exited his vehicle and took leg bail. A brief foot pursuit ensued, after a brief altercation Thompson was subsequently subdued and placed into custody. Thompson was transported to the New Haven State Police Barracks for processing, he was later released on a citation to appear in Addison County District Court on October 3, 2016 at 12:30 PM to answer the charges.
