On October 22, 2016, at approximately 1109 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police were notified of a one car motor vehicle crash on US Route 7 in Pittsford, Vermont.

State Troopers were initially advised that the male operator had fled the scene on foot. Upon arrival, the operator was located and identified as Richie J. Montani, age 51, of Bristol, Vermont. Montani’s vehicle had been traveling north and left the east side of the roadway when it entered a ditch and went airborne, landing a short distance away.

While speaking with the Montani, he exhibited several signs of drug impairment.
