SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: State Police attempted to stop a maroon Ford Escort sedan on East Bethel Rd in Randolph Ctr at 2105hrs after observing the vehicle traveling 55mph in a 25mph zone on Central St in Randolph Village and 85 in a 40mph zone on VT 66 in Randolph Ctr.

State Police activated the cruiser's blue lights and siren and attempted to stop the Ford at the junction of VT 66 and East Bethel Rd. The Ford accelerated and reached speeds of 95mph in a 40mph zone on East Bethel Rd. The vehicle then turned onto Crocker Rd, a dirt road, and continued on at a high rate of speed. The operator of the Ford lost control on Crocker Rd and the vehicle spun around but then continued on. The vehicle was regularly left of center and apexing corners. State Police continued the pursuit back onto east Bethel Rd and then onto the Oxbow Rd, Deering Rd, VT14, Russ Hill Rd, Gee Hill Rd and then Gage Rd before calling the pursuit off, at 2117hrs,due to a section of Class 4 road on Gage Rd.

State Police set a loose net of law enforcement vehicles in the hopes of reaquiring the vehicle. At 2139hrs Troopers located the vehicle coming from Gage Rd onto VT 14. State Police stopped the vehicle and took the operator and loan occupant, Gregory Post, into custody.

Post was processed at VSP Royalton and then released on citation to appear in Orange Superior Court on November 30, 2016
