VSP-Press Release; Single Vehicle Crash with Injuries, Sheffield, VT 09-16-16

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On the late morning of 09-16-16, at approximately 1125 hours, State Police were

dispatched to a single vehicle roll over with injuries on Vermont Route 122, in

the town of Sheffield, VT. Upon arrival, State Police located a single vehicle

resting on it's passenger side, leaning up against a telephone pole. Thurber

(43) was stuck in the vehicle and was the sole occupant. Thurber had to be

extricated from the vehicle and was transported by Lyndon Rescue to Northeastern

Vermont Regional Hospital for his injuries.  Investigation of the crash revealed

that the vehicle left the roadway, swerved back on the road, and crossed the

opposite lane of travel before rolling into a telephone pole. State Police were

assisted at the scene by Sheffield Fire, Lyndon Rescue, Lyndonville Fire, and

St. Johnsbury Fire. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
