Suspicious Fire / Cornwall - Salisbury / 09/10/16

LOCATION: Covered Bridge at Cornwall / Salisbury Town Line

 

VIOLATION: Fire

 

ACCUSED: unknown                                                                                      

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

At approximately 1451 hours on 09/10/16 the Vermont State Police, New Haven

Barracks was detailed to the covered bridge on Swamp Rd, Cornwall for a reported

suspicious fire.  Upon arrival, Troopers met with fire officials from the

Cornwall Volunteer Fire Department and the Salisbury Fire Department and

observed the wooden bridge completely engulfed in fire.

 

At present time the cause of the fire remains under investigation.  The bridge

is believed to be impassable to through traffic at this time.

 

An update will follow when additional information becomes available
