SUMMARY OF CRASH: On September 21, 2016, at approximately 1112 hours, dispatch advised of a two car motor vehicle collision near the intersection of US Route 7 and Hunt Road in the Town of New Haven. State Police arrived on scene and identified Operator#1 as Kristin Mestyan. Mestyan advised that prior to the collision, she was travelling northbound on US Route 7 at approximately 15-20 mph. Mestyan advised that she was slowing down due to road construction and that she briefly looked down to grab her coffee. Mestyan advised that when she looked up, she could see that the vehicle in front of her had stopped. Mestyan advised that she attempted to stop, but subsequently rear-ended the vehicle in front of her. State Police subsequently identified Operator#2 as Timothy Trombley. Trombley advised that prior to the collision, he was stopped on US Route 7 due to road construction. Trombley stated that he was subsequently rear-ended by a vehicle behind him. Vehicle#1 sustained moderate front contact damage. Vehicle#2 sustained minor rear contact damage. No injuries were sustained as a result of the collision. No drugs or alcohol played a factor in the collision.
