SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

  On 09/19/16, at approximately 2008 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks responded to a single vehicle crash with injuries, on U.S. Route 4 in the Town of Mendon.  Investigation revealed, Rollins was traveling west in his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado when he fell asleep.  Rollins subsequently crossed the east bound travel lane prior to exiting the south side of the roadway and crashing head on into a large boulder.  Rollins was able to exit the vehicle on his own, prior to emergency personnel’s arrival.  Rollins was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center by Regional Ambulance, for treatment to his non-life threatening leg injury.  The truck sustained major impact damage to the front bumper area and is considered a total loss.  Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Rutland City Fire Department and Regional Ambulance Service.
