VIOLATION: Driving with a criminally suspended license (6th offense)

 

ACCUSED: Sidney E. Messick Jr.                                                                                                                

AGE: 38

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Vergennes, VT

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On September 21, 2016 at approximately 1758 hours Vermont State Police Williston Troopers were in the Town of Charlotte conducting pro-active motor vehicle work.

At that time, numerous bicyclists were out riding in the area. During the patrol Troopers stopped Sidney E. Messick Jr. of Vergennes Vermont for driving with a cell phone in his hand while looking down

at it. This is a violation of Title 23 VSA Section 1095(b). During the stop it was found that Messick's privilege to operate a motor vehicle in Vermont was Criminally Suspended.

Messick has 5 prior convictions for operating with a criminally suspended license.

 

Messick was arrested, processed at the Williston Barracks, and released on a citation. Messick was also issued a ticket for cell phone use while operating a motor vehicle. $162 and 0 points.
