SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On 09-03-2016 at approximately 0028 hours the Vermont State Police, Manchester PD, Winhall PD and the Bennington County Sheriffs Dept responded to 776 McNamara Road, located in the Town of Dorset for a report of a home invasion involving three armed intruders. Upon arrival on scene it was established that there was no validity to the report. The complainant/homeowner, Betsy J. Zaruki (56) was found extremely intoxicated. Zarucki was arrested for providing False Information to a Police Officer. While Zarucki was being transported to SVMC due to her extremely level of intoxication, she attempted to bribe officers with money to let her go with no recourse. Zarucki was subsequently charged with Bribery. Zarucki was released on a criminal citation to appear in Bennington Superior Court-Criminal Division on 10-10-2016 at 0815 for the above stated charges.
