SUMMARY OF CRASH: On September 9, 2016 the Vermont State Police responded to a reported single vehicle crash on Bethel Mtn. Road in Rochester.  The driver of the vehicle was reported to have sustained injuries, but was not trapped inside the vehicle.  Area fire personnel responded to the scene along with White River Valley Ambulance service and the driver was transported to Gifford Medical Center.  The scene of the crash was on a sharp curve as the roadway crests the top of Bethel Mtn. Road on the Rochester side.  There was physical evidence present on the surface of the roadway to indicate an over-correction while attempting to negotiate the sharp curve had occurred.  The vehicle went off the south side of the roadway and collided with trees, which caused extensive front end damage to the vehicle.  A wrecker crew worked for several hours to free the vehicle and remove it from the scene.  This crash remains under investigation and any witnesses are asked to contact the Vermont State Police in Royalton at 802-234-9933, Sgt. E. Hudson.
