Steven Bessette, Topsham, 26, Helmet, Transported for precautionary reasons with

back pain.

Passenger Raymond Odell, 24, Helmet, Transported with leg pain.

 

Both were later reported to have sustained minor injuries.

SUMMARY OF CRASH: On September 7th 2016 at approximately 2012 hours Troopers

with the Vermont State Police responded to a reported ATV Accident on Maplewood

Road in Corinth. Troopers investigation revealed that Steven Bessette was

operating a 2011 Polaris Sportsman ATV with Raymond Odell on the back. Bessette

traveled around a sweeping left hand corner and lost control of the ATV which

traveled off the roadway. The ATV then traveled approximately 50 feet over an

embankment before striking several large rocks which caused the ATV to overturn

onto its left side before coming to rest against a tree. The ATV sustained moderate

damage to the as a result of the crash. Both Bessette and Odell were transported

to the Central Vermont Hospital and were later reported to have sustained minor

injuries as a result of the crash. Both were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

Speed is suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash.
