SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On September 29, 2016, at approximately 6:07 AM the Vermont State Police investigated a vehicle that had traveled off Notch Road in the Town of Mendon, Vermont. Upon arrival, the trooper observed that a silver 2005 Honda Civic had traveled off the road and was pinned on top of a several large rocks. The vehicle sustained minor damage to the rear fender and had to be towed from its location.
Through investigation, it was learned that Trevor J. Polcaro was operating the vehicle at the time of the crash. Polcaro advised he swerved to avoid deer crossing the road and travelled off the roadway. Polcaro displayed signs of impairment and was screened for DUI and provided a preliminary breath test which indicated that his BrAC equaled 0.108. Polcaro was arrested for the suspicion of DUI and transported to the Rutland Vermont State Police Barracks.
Polcaro was processed for DUI and later released on a citation to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division on October 17, 2016 to answer to the charge of driving under the influence.
