SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 9/19/2016, Troopers from the Middlesex Barracks were advised of a reported incident that occurred around 0530 AM. The subsequent investigation revealed that two males were in the process of cutting catalytic convertors from multiple vehicles in East Montpelier when they were caught by the owner. The two males were able to leave the area with one convertor. The owner was able to obtain a license plate of the vehicle that was parked near the scene and used by the males to leave the area. The investigation revealed that the owner of the vehicle, Jeremy Churchill, later attempted to sell a convertor at a local salvage yard. Troopers located Churchill and his vehicle in Cabot Vermont. multiple items were located in Churchill's vehicle that linked him to the crime. He was issued a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court.
