SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On September 11, 2016 at approximately 1253 hours Vermont State Police Williston Troopers responded to the report of a male who was stuck in a swimming area commonly referred to as "the potholes" in the Town of Bolton. The swimmer, Identified as Mark R. Willis 23 y/o from Pepperill Massachusetts was assisted from the water by rescue crews without incident. Willis sustained no injuries.

VSP units were assisted at the scene by Bolton Fire, Bolton River Rescue, Richmond Rescue, and a member from Colchester Technical Rescue also responded to assist with the rescue efforts. Vermont State Police continue to caution swimmers of the dangers of swimming in these areas, especially after heavy rain storms.
