DATE/TIME: 09/06/16 @ approximately 2030 hours
LOCATION: VT Rt 78, Highgate, VT

SUMMARY: On 09/06/16 at approximately 2030 hours, State Police responded to a reported robbery that occurred at the Irving Station in the Town of Highgate. It was reported a lone suspect entered the store and approached a lone female clerk. The suspect grabbed the clerk and forced her to the cash register where he then demanded the cash register be opened. The suspect ultimately took an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was described as a white male approximately 5’5” and 5’7” with a thin build. The suspect appeared to be concealing his identity by placing clothing over his head and face. There was no weapon either displayed or referenced while the suspect talked to the clerk. The male then fled the store on foot towards VT Rt. 78. State Troopers and Swanton Police Department responded to the scene once the incident was reported. While on scene, security footage of the suspect was obtained. State Police are asking the general public for any information they may have regarding the robbery and the identification of the suspect. This incident remains under active investigation.
