SUMMARY OF CRASH:
Vermont State Police, Shelburne PD and Charlotte Fire/Rescue responded to a two vehicle collision on VT Rte 7 in the town of Charlotte, VT.  The collision occurred within the hard packed gravel section of roadway currently under construction, south of East Thompson Point Rd.

Upon arriving, Troopers observed Vehicle #1 and #2 in the SB half of the unmarked gravel roadway.   The initial investigation revealed Vehicle #1 was traveling NB on Rte 7 when she reportedly lost control of her vehicle and entered into a side skid.  Operator #1 was able to regain control of her vehicle but upon doing so, she collided head on with the Vehicle #2 (which was traveling SB).

Operator #1, #2 and Passenger #1 were all reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash and airbag deployment(s) were observed in both vehicles.  Operator #1 and Passenger #1 suffered minor injuries as a result of the impact and were transported to UVMC where they received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary findings indicate speed may have been a factor in this crash. This incident is still under investigation.
