SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 09/02/2016 at approximately 2020 hours, Troopers from the Derby Barracks responded to a 2-car crash on Frog Pond Rd in Brownington, in which vehicle 2 had not stopped and had fled the scene.  The operator of vehicle 1, Annette Cote, was able to determine that the vehicle was a pickup truck.  A BOL was issued.

Cota stated she had been driving East on Frog Pond Rd with her 4-month-old child in the car when vehicle 2, driving West, came into her lane of travel at a high rate of speed, forcing her off the road and side-swiping her vehicle, damaging her vehicle to the point that it was inoperable.  Vehicle 2 did not stop and fled the scene.

There were no injuries to Cota or her child.  Orleans Fire assisted at the scene.

There was blue paint transfer on vehicle 1, as well as tire rub a significant length up the doors, possibly indicative of a blue or partially blue truck with large tires.  There may be significant body damage to the driver side of the vehicle 2, as well as white paint transfer from vehicle 1.  Vehicle 2 had fled West towards Orleans village on Frog Pond Rd.

Vermont State Police-Derby are currently attempting to locate this vehicle or its operator.  Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Derby Barracks at (802) 334-8881.
