SUMMARY OF CRASH:  

 

On September 16, 2016 at approximately 0726 hours the Williston PSAP received a

report of a motor vehicle crash on Interstate 189 eastbound near the Route 7

on-ramp in the City of South Burlington. While Troopers responded to the scene,

the Williston PSAP began receiving 911 calls of a vehicle coming from the I189

median onto Farrell St in South Burlington. The South Burlington Police

Department responded to the Farrell Street scene to assist the Vermont State

Police.

 

The preliminary investigation showed Vehicle 1 left the eastbound passing lane

of Interstate 189 and began traveling in the I189 median. Vehicle 1 traveled

from the I189 median onto Farrell Street before colliding with a bridge support

near the I189 overpass on Farrell Street. Vehicle 1 sustained moderate front-end

damage as a result of the collision. Operator 1 sustained minor injuries as a

result of the collision. The State Police have determined impairment was not a

factor in the collision, the crash investigation remains active.
