VIOLATION:  Missing Student Hiker

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 09-21-16 at approximately 4:00 pm, the Vermont State Police was notified of a missing student hiker at the Putney School on Houghton Brook Road in Putney, VT.

Upon arrival the Putney Fire Department set up a command post.  The Putney School contacted us after realizing that a 17 year old student had not come out of the trail system when he was supposed to.  Several students ventured off at 830 am into the woods for a lesson on nature but came out at 1130 am.  The lost 17 year old student became adventurous and wondered off the trail system.

Upon hearing voices and sirens, the male student exited the woods and walked to the visible command post.  The student was in good spirits and unharmed.
