SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On July 31, 2016, at approximately 02:55 hours, 911 dispatchers received a call from a residence on Orchard Street, in the town of Pownal (VT).  The caller advised of an active altercation between an adult male and female. 

 

Upon arrival, Troopers identified one of the involved individuals as Jeffrey Miller, age 27, of Pownal (VT).  Miller was found to be belligerent and highly intoxicated.

 

As Troopers were investigated the incident, Miller became irate and began screaming profanity.  As Troopers attempted to calm Miller, he attempted to assault a Trooper, at which time he was taken into custody for Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest.

 

Miller was treated by rescue and processed at the Shaftsbury Barracks.  Miller has ultimately released with a citation ordering him to appear in the Bennington County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on August 29, 2016, at 08:15 hours to answer to the above charges.
