SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 08/31/16, the State Police responded to a reported two vehicle collision on

Interstate 91 in Thetford. Members of the Thetford Fire and Police Departments,

Upper Valley Ambulance, Agency of Transportation, an Inspector with the

Department of Motor Vehicle, and Sabil and Sons Wrecker Service responded as

well.

Oswaldo Martini was operating a 2015 International tractor trailer and traveling

south. There was a pickup truck towing a camper which was parked along the west

side shoulder due to a flat tire on the trailer. For reasons unknown, Oswaldo

Martini drifted along the west shoulder. The passenger side of the tractor

trailer struck the driver's side of the camper and truck in a sideswipe manner.

The tractor trailer came to rest a short distance away along the embankment off

the west side of the Interstate. Oswaldo Martini was not injured in the crash.

The occupants of the pickup truck were away from the vehicle at the time of the

collision and also were not injured.

The tractor trailer sustained moderate damage along the passenger side to

include a ruptured fuel tank. The camper sustained extensive damage and was

considered totaled. The pickup truck sustained moderate damage along the

driver's side.

The travel lane was closed for a few hours while crews cleaned debris from the roadway and removed the vehicles.

Oswaldo Martini was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for Driving on

roadway laned for traffic.

A crew from Clean Harbor Environmental Services later responded to assess the diesel fuel spill.
