SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On August 27, 2016 at approximately 0259 hours Troopers from the Vermont State Police-Rutland Barracks, the Killington Police Department, Killington Fire Department and Regional Ambulance Service responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on US Route 4 near the intersection of Mission Farm Road in the Town of Killington.

Preliminary investigation revealed Operator #1 (Amin J. James) was traveling eastbound on US Route 4 in the Town of Killington driving a 2003 Honda CRV. Operator #2 (John Warner) was traveling westbound in the same area, operating a 2013 Volvo Station Wagon. Operator #1 traveled left of center into the westbound lane and into Operator #2’s path of travel. Operator #2 attempted to avoid the collision but was unable to move his vehicle in time. Both vehicles impacted each other in the westbound travel lane. The crash caused extensive damage to both vehicles.

Operator #1 and the passenger in vehicle #1 were unrestrained during the crash and sustained significant injuries. Both front airbags deployed. Operator #2 was property restrained in his vehicle and numerous airbags in his vehicle deployed. Operator #2 received only minor injuries.

Operator #1 and the passenger were both transported to the Rutland Regional Medical Center by Regional Ambulance Service. Operator #2 was not transported by EMS from the scene.

Anyone with information about this crash is asked to contact Trooper Kaitlyn Armstrong at the Rutland Barracks, 802-773-9101.

East Creek Motors and Executive Towing removed the vehicles from the roadway. At this time the investigation is continuing.
