MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH

VEHICLE #1

OPERATOR: Timothy E. Phillips

                                                                               

DESCRIPTION OF VEHICLE: 2016 Kenwood Tractor Trailer

 

DAMAGE TO VEHICLE: Front bumper damage

 

VEHICLE #2

OPERATOR: Christopher R. Pugliese, Age 26 of Arlington, VT

PASSENGER: Krystal M. Reyes, Age 27 of Arlington, VT

 

DESCRIPTION OF VEHICLE: 2015 Toyota Rav-4

 

DAMAGE TO VEHICLE:  Moderate damage to right side of the vehicle

 

INJURIES

Passenger of vehicle #2 was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

No other injuries were reported.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On August 8, 2016 at approximately 1946, Vermont State Police responded to the area of US Rt. 7 and VT 103 in Clarendon for a report of a two vehicle crash.

 

Investigation revealed that Operator #1 (Phillips) was traveling south on U.S. Rt. 7 and was attempting to make a left turn on VT 103. A broken down Schwan’s truck was in the turning lane on U.S. Rt. 7 which caused Phillips to travel to the right most southbound lane. Operator #2 (Pugliese) was driving south in the passing lane on U.S. Rt. 7 when Operator #1 began to make a left turn onto VT 103 from the right most southbound lane. As Operator #1 began to make his turn across both southbound lanes, Vehicle #2 was struck while traveling south.

 

The Passenger of vehicle #2 was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

 

No other injuries were reported at the scene.
