SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On August 8, 2016 at 8:44 pm Rutland Troopers, Castleton PD, Poultney Volunteer Fire Department and Poultney First Response responded to a single vehicle injury accident on VT RT 140 in the town of Poultney.  Investigation concluded that the operator, Addison Delisle, 28 of Middletown Springs, was traveling east on VT RT 140 when he lost control of his vehicle.  The vehicle, a 2000 Subaru sedan struck a concrete bridge, crossed the center line and collided with a metal guard rail on the opposite side of the roadway.  The vehicle was towed from the scene because of moderate contact damage.  The vehicle is estimated to be totaled.  After showing signs of intoxication Delisle was screened for DUI and consented to a preliminary breath test which indicated at blood alcohol content of % .139 at about 9:30 pm.  Delisle was taken into custody and transported to Fair Haven where he was processed for DUI.  While processing Delisle refused to provide an evidentiary test and was cited into Rutland Court on August 29, 2016 at 8:30 am for DUI-refusal.  Delisle was written two civil traffic tickets, one for not having his vehicle insured and the other for failing to maintain his lane of travel, accident resulting.  Delisle suffered a minor injury to his left wrist but denied medical transport.
