Press Release DUI / Under age drinking

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

State Police Dispatch received a report of young adults in a white Jeep Cherokee
going into the woods hollering for someone named Kyle in the Town of Chelsea. 
When Troopers arrived a white Jeep was observed stopped off the right side of
Route 110 in Chelsea north of the Chelsea Fire Department.  While speaking with
the occupants of the vehicle Troopers were informed that they had found Kyle who
was in the vehicle at the time.  During the conversation Troopers noticed an
odor of intoxicant.  Troopers also learned that there were three individuals in
the vehicle that were under the age of 21.  Jonnie Thompson, Stephanie Henderson
and Jonathan O'Connell all received diversion paperwork for having consumed
alcohol.
The Operator, Dexter Sargent showed signs of possible impairment.  Sargent
provided a preliminary breath sample which indicated his blood alcohol
concentration to be .117%.  Sargent was taken into custody without incident and
transported to the Orange County Sheriff Department where he was processed for
DUI.  Sargent was later released on a citation to appear in Orange County
Superior Court; Criminal Division on September 14, 2016 to answer to the charge
of DUI 1st Offense.
