He was attempting to use the GPS on his cell phone and veered off the right side of the roadway. The truck traveled onto the grass then rolled onto its side after hitting a steep embankment. The truck landed on the driver side of the vehicle and completely blocked both lanes of RT 11. Even though the truck was empty the roadway was closed for 2 hours until it could be towed away. Carpenter had bumps and bruises but did not seek medical attention. He was issued a ticket for using an electronic device while operating a vehicle.
