SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 8/11/2016 at approximately 1535 hours, State Police responded to a report of a single motor vehicle crash. The crash was located on VT RT 100 in the town of Lowell by the intersection of Finnegan Road. The operator of the vehicle was extracted from the vehicle by Missisiquoi EMS and Lowell Fire Department due to the vehicle being in the water. State Police investigation determined the vehicle had been traveling north on US RT 100 when the operator fell asleep and left the roadway. The vehicle then traveled off of US RT 100, struck a parked vehicle and became airborne for approximately 30 feet. The vehicle then traveled down the embankment of the Missisiquoi river. The operator, identified as Polly Hodgkins, was wearing a seat belt and sustained injuries as a result of the crash. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to play a factor in this crash.
