SUMMARY OF CRASH: On August 30, 2016 at approximately 1358 hours, State Police were notified of a single car motor vehicle collision on Vermont Route 22A in the Town of Orwell. State Police arrived on scene and identified the operator as Leon Price. Price advised that prior to the collision, he had been travelling southbound on Vermont Route 22A at approximately 50mph. Price stated that a deer ran across the roadway and in a effort to avoid the deer, he began steering towards the edge of the roadway. Price stated that he caught the edge of the roadway, which subsequently caused him to go off the road. After going off the road, Price's vehicle struck a concrete barrier and a tree. Price sustained no injuries as a result of the collision. Price's vehicle was totaled as a result of the collision. State Police do not believe alcohol or drugs played a factor in the collision.

 

***UPDATE*** Vermont Route 22A is currently down to one lane of travel in the area of the collision. State Police will notify when traffic flow returns to normal.
