SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 8/14/16 at approximately 1700 hours, State Police were notified of a vehicle in the town of Newport Center that had an expired vehicle registration and was being operated by an unknown male.  I arrived in the area of Vance Hill Road, Newport Center, and located the vehicle and the male operator.  The male operator was identified as Scott Bursey (DOB: 2/22/65).  Upon speaking with Bursey, I could detect the odor of intoxicants emitting from his person.  Bursey performed Standard Field Sobriety Exercises and did not give consent for a Preliminary Breath Test.  Bursey was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and taken to the State Police Barracks in Derby for processing.
