Correction to Press release

Correction to the press release below, John Petrasch was not a teacher at Harwood High School, but was a Para Educator/Instructional assistant at the school per the School District.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 08/09/16, Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation Detectives were assigned a sexual assault case that was initially reported to Trooper's at the Middlesex Barracks. State Police Detective's interviewed a victim who alleged that John "Jake" Petrasch Jr, had sexually assaulted and strangled her during the assault, which took place at his residence. Petrasch, a former teacher for Harwood High School, is now currently employed by the Department of Corrections as a teacher.  He currently works with the victims boyfriend at Community High School of Vermont, out of Barre.
   
                After completion of the investigation, John "Jake" Petrasch was subsequently taken into custody without incident at his residence. Petrasch was issued a citation to appear before the Washington County Superior Court, Criminal Division on 08/18/16.
