Careless and Negligent Operation

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On August 29, 2016, a Trooper from the St. Albans barrack was traveling westbound on VT RT 105, in a fully marked State Police Cruiser when a Green Volkswagen Passat, traveling eastbound passed a vehicle on the double yellow  line at a high rate of speed, nearly striking the Trooper’s cruiser head on.

The operator of the Passat, identified by his New York driver's license as Evan James (27) of Franklin, VT. James was placed under arrest for careless and negligent operation and transported to the barracks for processing. Cota's removed the vehicle from the roadway.

James was given a citation to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on September 26, 2016 at 1pm.
