SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On July 1, 2016 at approximately 1230 hrs, I was notified of a Motor Vehicle Crash with injuries at 376 VT RT 36 in Fairfield. I responded to the scene along with St. Albans PD, Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife Game Wardens, and AmCare Rescue. After a short investigation and interviewing eyewitnesses it was determined that both operators were driving their truck North on VT RT 36, when the Vehicle #2 slowed down to attempt a left hand turn into the driveway, Vehicle #1 attempted to pass the slowing vehicles on the left. When attempting to pass, Vehicle #1 made contact with the front end of Vehicle #2, then swerved and left the traveled portion of the roadway and rolled over.

Operator#1 and a passenger in Vehicle #2 were transported to Northwest Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of injuries. All personnel were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Alcohol is not considered to be a factor for the crash.

Respectfully,

Trooper Mike Filipek
