Summary of Incident: On Saturday, July 2, 2016 members of Vermont State Police, US Forest Services Law Enforcement Division, and Vermont Fish & Wildlife walked sections of the Long Trail/Appalachian Trail talking with hikers regarding the unknown male subject. Based on those interactions the male subject was subsequently located and identified. He was interviewed and later released on a citation to appear in Rutland Superior Court -Criminal Division to answer to the charge of Lewd or Lascivious conduct with a child.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On Thursday, June 30, 2016, Vermont State Police in Rutland were contacted regarding a suspicious incident that occurred on the Long Trail/Appalachian Trail near the Minerva Hinchey Shelter located approximately 4 miles north of the VT 140 trailhead in Wallingford. Vermont State Police are looking for assistance with identifying this male who was last seen leaving this shelter around 0900 hours the morning of June 30, 2016, possibly headed south. He's wanted for questioning concerning a lewd act on the evening of June 29, 2016 around the Minerva Shelter.
The male subject was described as being approximately 6'-6'2", thin, muscular build, with black/grey hair in a short, buzz style haircut. He was last seen wearing green camo pants, possible a dark grey short-sleeve shirt, tan/khaki colored boots, and grey/silver glasses. He is believed to be carrying a black hiking backpack, orange sleeping pad possibly with a green/grey sleeping bag. He might go by the name(s) Andre or Albert.
