SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

On July 19th 2016 at approximately 2109 hours troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks responded to a two car motor vehicle crash near the intersection of South Main Street and Cold River Road in Rutland. Investigation revealed vehicle number one was stopped at a red light when vehicle number two struck it from behind. The operator of vehicle number two was identified as Peder C. Johnson. Johnson displayed signs of alcohol impairment and was screened for DUI. Johnson provided a preliminary breath test resulting in a .150 BrAC. He was taken into custody and transported to the Vermont State Police Barracks in Rutland Town where he was processed for DUI. Johnson was issued a citation to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division to answer to the charge of DUI. He was then released to a sober party.
