SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On July 24th, 2016, at approximately 1415 hrs, Vermont State Police responded to a two vehicle crash on VT RT 103, East Wallingford, Vermont.

Preliminary investigation revealed that operator #1, identified as Anton Shroeder of Ludlow, VT, was traveling south on RT 103 in East Wallingford on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Shroeder crossed the centerline in an attempt to pass the tractor trailer ahead of him. Meanwhile, Carol Ross was traveling northbound in her Honda Civic while Shroeder was conducting his pass at which time Shroeder’s motorcycle collided with the rear fender of Ross’ Civic.

Upon contact, Shroeder lost control of the motorcycle and traveled off the northbound travel portion of the roadway and into a wooded area. Ross applied her vehicle’s brakes, however was unable to avoid the collision at which time her vehicle also left the northbound travel portion of the roadway.

Both operators were transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for medical examination.

Both vehicles were removed by a local tow service.

The Vermont State Police were assisted by members of the Mount Holly Fire Department/Rescue Squad and the Shrewsbury Fire Department/Rescue Squad.
