OPRATOR/ACCUSED: Melodie Jasmin

VEHICLE: 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser

DAMAGE: Moderate contact damage to the driver’s side and roof.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

On July 11, 2016 at approximately 2248 hours, members of the Vermont State Police were notified of a single motor vehicle crash, which took place on Vermont Route 73E, near the intersection of Fiddlehill Road, Sudbury, Vermont. The operator was identified as Melodie Jasmin. Jasmin advised as she was traveling westbound on Vermont Route 73, Sudbury, Vermont, when she veered to the left, off the travel portion of the roadway. In doing so, she came in contact with a culvert, causing the vehicle to roll over onto the roof.  Jasmin refused medical treatment, and did not sustain any injuries. While speaking to Jasmin, she displayed signs of impairment and was screened for DUI. At approximately 2345 hours, Jasmin provided a preliminary sample of her breath which yielded a 0.098% BrAC. Jasmin was subsequently taken into custody, transported to the State Police Barracks in Rutland, where she was processed for DUI. Jasmin was later released on a citation to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division to answer to the charge of Driving under the influence (DUI). Members of the Brandon Police Department and Brandon Rescue Squad responded and assisted with this incident.
