LOCATION: Interstate 89 Southbound, milemarker 93.4 Blakley Rd Overpass.
Colchester, VT

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 7/14/16 at approximately 0630 hours Vermont State Police
was advised of a cable hanging down from the Blakley Road Overpass over the
Interstate 89 Southbound lanes. It is unknown how the metal cable was
detached from the bridge at this time. The passing lane of Interstate 89
Southbound was closed for approximately 45 minutes while the Vermont Agency of
Transportation worked to take the cable down. Two vehicles were reportedly
damaged from the wire hanging but no one was injured.
