Press Release: 7/12/16 Rt. 15 Underhill-Crash

VEHICLE #1

OPERATOR: Victor Twiggs

AGE: 54 years old
SEAT BELT? Yes

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Winooski, VT

INJURIES: Evaluation with neck and left shoulder pain.

 

DESCRIPTION OF VEHICLE: 2015 Ford Escape

DAMAGE TO VEHICLE: Totaled

 

HOSPITAL: UVMC           

WEATHER: Sunny

ROAD COND: Dry

 

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On July 12, 2016 at approximately 3:00pm Vermont State Police and the Underhill-Jericho Fire Department were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover on Rt. 15 in Underhill by residence number 779.

 

Preliminary investigation revealed the operator, Twiggs, was feeling ill prior to the crash. While looking for a place to pull over and rest, Twiggs lost consciousness, causing him to drift off the roadway and into the roadside culvert. The westbound lane of Rt. 15 was temporarily shut down while crews treated the operator of the vehicle and removed the vehicle from the scene.

 

Twiggs was transported to UVMC where his is being treated for what is reported to be non-life threatening injuries sustained to his neck and shoulder.
